Folks,

This is old, old, news but in case you've been in cryogenic storage for the past 10 years, DD has issued SB's for strengthening brackets for the bull gear housing as shown in the attached pics. In the first pic the new bracket is small and appears as a light blue angle piece in the back. I had to replace my camshaft diamond seal due to a leak and I added these two brackets as a precautionary measure:

I can't tell if this applies to our DD60 configuration or not. I'very been to a few DD service centers and Prevost with 2 DD60 powered coaches and this bracket was never recommended. That doesn't mean anything given no one recommended the improved DN50 alternator vent line either on my last coach. BTW, some think the DN50 vent line mod provides more oIL flow into the as alternator. It was really introduced to reduce pressure in the alternator in hopes to reducing early alternator seal failure.

Hi Gil,

My DD tech recommended them for both my 2002 Wanderlodge and my 2003 (chassis year) Prevost. so it's in that year range.

Hi GoneCrazy,

The attached DD Service Letter says: "Refer to Service Information Letter, 01TS-18 for additional information regarding application of the
gear case brackets". I couldn't find 01TS-18 so you may want to call DD to find out.
