I inflate my steer tires to 120-125 psi. What I discovered was that it's hard to get to that pressure with many mid sized home compressors. I have a fair sized DeWalt compressor that has a maximum pressure of 200 psi. It just wouldn't get my tire pressure past about 115 psi. I thought that just wasn't right. I had the regulator set well above what I needed. So, I decided to put an extra air hose fitting directly off of the storage tank and before the air is routed to the regulator. Wow, what a difference! Not only can I easily get to 125 psi, it fills the tires so much faster. If your home compressor has the same struggles you might want to give this a try.
