Has anyone ever converted an air operated pocket door to a regular pocket door that you just slide by hand?. I wonder how much trouble that would be? Thanks to some expert help from a couple POG friends, my air doors are now working, but I had just as soon they be manually operated.

Dale, you can likely have a manual door simply by disconnecting both air lines. Keep in mind you will need a mechanism to lock the doors opened or closed for travel.

Gil, I think the last time I tried disconnecting the air at the manifold, there was still resistance on the door. The air piston is an integral part of the track.

Did you disconnect both lines? I wouldn't have expected much internal pressure on an unpressurized ram.

Gil,

I'm not sure if I disconnected both lines, but I can now see that would have to be done in order to remove the pressure. I'll wait and see if I have any more problems, because they were all working fine on the last trip.
