From reading former posts, I see that several POG members use Coach-Net for their Emergency Road Service provider. I've never used ERS for an RV, but have had both AAA and Good Sam, and don't think much of either for RV applications. I have used AAA several times over the last 45 years for my automobiles and have no complaint with their service. I tried to use Good Sam recently for a breakdown in an automobile, and it was a total fiasco.

My question is if most have the Basic or Premier Coach-Net service? I don't see much difference in the services, but a significant difference in the price, so I am leaning toward the Basic service.

Dale, Isn't it part of the package that is included in the National Interstate insurance program.

Jim, I don't know. I've never heard that, but maybe it is.

Dale, I have had Coach Net since I bought my first Prevost. I have used them 3 times for tire problems, and once to pull my coach back about 5 feet so I could get traction with my drive tires. They are very helpful, and usually send the proper help to fit the problem.

I would not be without their service.

I believe you will find that they use the same vendors in most cases.

Dan is right. The difference is the other guys often times demand the vendor respond with equipment that's too small.

Sure enough. Looking through my insurance policy with National Interstate and Coach-Net is included as part of the package. Perhaps some of you Poggers might have a pleasant surprise if you checked your policy.

Jim,

I've got to check mine. I'm thinking my insurance is underwritten by National Interstate but they subbed it out to another company. I'll have to check when I get back to Pensacola.

Not to say that it is free unless your coach is still under warranty, but remember every Prevost owner is eligible to utilize the Prevost Action (PASS) line for emergency "get you off the side of the road" situations. 800-463-7738. In the absence of other roadside service, the Prevost Action service is the biggest reason for someone to own a Prevost over any other RV or motorhome on the road. If you have something else like Coach-Net, at least the Action line is a great backup in case the other service happens not to be able to help. Just me 2 cents lol.

A couple things that I learned about Coach-Net. If we purchase this service through National Interstate, there are some definite advantages over just purchasing it directly from Coach-Net. When added in with your policy from National Interstate, we do pay $89 a year that becomes part of our insurance payment. We get a special Gold Package that includes several things that are not included with the Basic $89 package. The gold package includes such things as coverage for your trailers, tow dollies, boat trailers and utility trailers, Concierge Services, trip interruption insurance, free travelers checks, vehicle rental discounts, and other discounts that are not included in the Basic $89 package. The Gold package also covers the Member, spouse and dependent children ages 24 and under, for your RVs and all other personal vehicles owned, rented, borrowed or leased.

You have to talk to the National Interstate people to learn about the Gold Package since it is not included on the Coach-Net website. Thanks to Jim and others for pointing me in this direction. Also what Ben said about Pass is very true; when in a mechanical quandary, PASS is a great source of help.

I'm a day late and a dollar short. I just renewed my membership through FMCA. The Platinum Plus plan was $129. It looks like your Gold package is very similar, if not the same. I guess I lost $40 :-(

I want to give an update to this topic. I've had Coach-Net for a couple years now, and I am very pleased with them. Unfortunately, I've had to use them two times this year. We had the bus towed to a repair facility in January because of a faulty wire. Last week I locked my keys in my SUV, and they sent someone to unlock it. In both instances, Coach-Net responded in a timely and professional manner. They sent the right size wrecker to do a safe tow of the Prevost, and they dispatched a locksmith in about 20 minutes. In both instances, they called me at the projected ETA to see if the service had arrived as promised. Very happy with their service.

I too had a good experience with Coach Net and their contractor. The contractor was held at the military installation's gate until I could clear and escort him. He didn't complain or charge more. I had him change 5 valve stems, even though he was called for a single low tire. His rate was very reasonable. He R&R a valve stem for $45 a wheel.
