Grizz

There’s an old post (3 years old) about this subject. Here’s something new.
Recently I got trapped in a parking lot with low hanging tree limbs. There was no way out, but to maneuver under and around as best possible. Fortunately, the only damage was a lost wind cup from the Girard wind sensor. Everything was fine except for a missing cup on the rear awning wind speed sensor.
FYI:
I found this cup assembly that works perfectly with just a little modification.
Davis Large Wind Cups For Vantage Pro2 (7905L), from Weathershack.com
The hole is a bit small and will need to be reamed out to accommodate the Girard shaft. I did that in two steps on a drill press in order to keep the hole in perfect center and alignment. Final drill size was 11/64!
Remove the setscrew before reaming the hole.
Total cost including shipping; $17.04 and 15 minutes of my time.
BTW: Stay out of the St. Augustine outlet mall on the west side of I-95. The one on the east side is clear and can accommodate any Prevost.
