If you are looking for the most compact ladder to carry in the bus, a collapsible one may be the one to purchase. I've had one like shown in the picture for about 5 years and it is very compact and works great. I've used it quite often with the bus and around the house. They have a 300 lb capacity. Make sure each section locks as you open it or you could come down faster than you went up. Roger has some experience with fast moving ladders! The 12.5' model is only 34" tall when closed and is available for as little as $89.95 including shipping.

That looks like the one I have and it works great. When looking at these collapsible ladders don't settle for the ones with lower weight ratings. The lighter duty ones won't hold up.

That's right Dale. I can tell you when it is going to rain better than the weatherman.

This is the best price I've ever seen on this ladder ($72.98 including shipping). http://www.ebay.com/itm/330Lbs-12-5ft-Aluminum-Telescoping-Telescopic-Extension-Ladder-Multi-Purpose-US-/271765631809?_trksid=p2141725.m3641. I've had mine for about 5 years and always carry it in the bus. It has come in handy around the house so many times, and it is great to throw in the car and take to another location to check something out. I purchased one for a friend of mine who weighs over 250 lbs, and he has had no problem at all, but I don't know how close I would want to push to the 330 lb max weight limit. "Remember Roger"!!!!

They come in handy when your mother in law needs to borrow your ladder!
