Any ideas on parking for a few nights around DC ? I know Cherry Hill is there but would like to be closer in if possible - no hook-ups required….
Is there a marshaling yard or any kind of truck parking??
Thanks
Jamie

This the same dilemma we had last year in DC. We ended up staying at Cherry Hill. That said, I saw very few places close in that I thought would have been suitable to dry camp. Good luck.

It's a shame that there aren't more or better choices nearer to DC. Unfortunately, real estate is simply too expensive. There are 2 county parks that are fairly close you might want to try. Bull Run and Pohick Bay both have a few sites big enough for a bus, http://www.nvrpa.org/park/main_site/content/NVRPA_Parks

I lived in Northern VA for over 20 years and never have visited this park. It may or may not be worth looking at: http://www.nps.gov/gree/index.htm I do know that the surrounding area had some questionable neighborhoods.

Jamie, We looked a while back and as good as Corey has been finding convention centers and expo halls etc., we came to the conclusion that Cherry Hill is pretty much it.

Update ……..
Found a great place 2 miles south of Old Town Alexandria - Manager was extremely cordial - he would not let me pay for a room - just asked me to tip the girls at the front desk…………...

You must be pretty close to Mango Mikes business.

I know the area well. Old town is a great place for dinner and drinks.

I've long thought hotels should have a five to ten RV parking spots in back with the 50amp and water. Rent them out.
