Mini Rally - New Orleans - March 27 - 30 , 2014

Hi Everyone ,

I am putting together a Mini Rally in New Orleans on March 27 - 30 , 2014 at the French Quarter RV Resort.

Debbie & I spent Thanksgiving weekend there and thought the place was GREAT !! It is close to everything to do in New Orleans and very safe . The RV Resort is First Class.
( all sites have full hook-ups , 50 amp , on concrete )

I have not scheduled any dinners because I think people will want to eat out since there are so many great restaurants here. We will get together each evening for a reception before diner.

We will have a Plantation Tour & Lunch Friday at Oak Alley - this place is really worth seeing !

The French Quarter RV Resort is super and safe.

Here's the GPS address: 565 Crozat Street, New Orleans, LA 70112. Helicopter over it on Google Earth and see how walkable the spot is to everything in the Vieux Carre. That small fenced park across the street cries out for dogwalkers.

Have not pickup 14 acadia, waiting for base plate. blue ox said 2011 would not fit
tried to get GM. Dealer to make it fit they said no way. New one on its way.

French Quarter got slammed and was not able to hold the 30 spots we discussed. I called them this morning and they are going to see if they can open up any more spots for us - but as of now we are full.

If any one is interested, several of us are planning on going over to the Bella Terra RV resort in Foley Alabama, after the New Orleans rally. It is a great resort with lots of things to do in the area. Fair Hope, and Orange Beach come to mind if you would like to check them out. We are going to stay over in New Orleans on March the 30th, and go on to Bella Terra on the 31st for a few days.
I just called Bella Terra, and they have advised they have space from the 31st thru the 3rd of April. They prefer that you call for reservations, 251-970-2370 on an individual basis, as they need phone#s, ect.

Courtney with Bella Terra sent me an email stating that POG members visiting after the New Orleans rally will receive a discount from the normal $60/70 rates as follows: 3 or more coaches $45, 10 or more coaches $35.
If you have an interest in visiting this area, call Bella Terra and mention you are with the POG group to receive the discount. It is a very nice park in an area with some interesting things to do in southern Alabama.

Hey Poggers, anyone on their way to New Orleans staying at Camp Gulf(Destin,Fl) 3/24 or Gulf Haven(Gulfport,Ms) 3/25 ?

Our favorite place in the Destin area is Topsail Hill, and ask for a site in the 100's section. It is not on the beach, but is a very nice park which used to be privately owned, and for years was a 10-10-10 park. It is now owned by the state of Florida. Very difficult to get a site this time of the year, but well worth a try.

Hello Friends,

My sweetie is not feeling to hot so we had to cancel our plans for the rally. I was so looking forward to meeting many of you that I
only know from online contact. Many have helped me through some newbie issues and I wanted to finally thank you in person.
Sadly, it won't happen at this time. We need to get some medical attention this week. I think the rally was full so if you missed out
here is a last minute opening. Check with Jamie first in case someone has already stepped in. We'll try again at the next one, meanwhile have
safe journeys to you all.

Jamie & Debbie, thanks for putting the N.O. mini rally together, we had a blast in spite of the weather. Some of us arrived at Bella Terra this afternoon, and the weather is very nice....just hope it holds.
