Tire Costs and Weight Concerns

Many worry about how much their coaches weigh, as they should. We also hate the thought of replacing tires that still look given the cost of our tires. Like most things, our thoughts can be changed when put in a different perspective. This guy has 78 tires and probably weighs in at well over 250,000 pounds. I wonder what's under the tarp.

They have a real problem with bridges with that weight.

That does make $5500 for a set for the Prevost look pretty manageable compared to $50,000+ for a set for this monster.

20 axles if he is 250,000lb that would put him under 15000lb per axle. DA BIG JOB. A local heavy hauler Press Express blew a motor pulling one of these trailers home when they bought it. EMPTY no load on it.

When you say a $5,500 for set of provost tires what are you talking about? or how many ?

Through FMCA (Michelin Advantage), each 315 or 365 Is roughly $625 each (FET included).

Gil is right Larry, I bought 365's and 315's a few months ago for $625 each. FMCA is definitely the way to go for tires. An easy process too.

Larry, you paid roadside assistance prices...ouch! The good news is you only bought 2. I've bought tires 3 times through the FMCA program. Although the process changed each time, it was always very easy.

There r alignment shops in Nashville selling them for 900 bucks if that makes U feel any better Larry. Its amazing how bad the distributers R getting cut off at the knees on this deal. Unbelievable.
