Took me 5hr to make what is normally a 3 hr trip home to Chicago from Lansing Mi Yesterday eve. Heavy lake effect snow and wind and 3 traffic stopping wrecks because of it all. Cold is only cold without the white stuff.

Although it isn't that cold (32 degrees) here in Huntsville today, the weather is a little unusual for this part of the South. We had 8.1 inches of snow yesterday/last night and places 20 miles south of us had 11 inches. Paulette and I are happy to experience a beautiful local snow for the first time in many years. I grew up in Tennessee, so snow isn't that foreign to me, but I haven't seen much the last 48 years I've been in Florida except when traveling. We built the snowman about 9:30 last night. Never too old to occasionally act young!
