Broken Spider

Here is something U don't see very often. This is the bracket that is bolted to the rear end housing and then the s-cam goes thru it on the top and the brake shoes are mounted off of it at the bottom 2 holes with large pins. This one cracked completely apart.11394113951139611397

So Joe, Is that a forging problem or was their too much pressure exerted by the brakes. Any answer on why.

IMO it had to be something in manufacturing that time and age finally caught up with. IMO probably something only magniflux would have picked up and they don't do that to everything for all the obvious reasons. It doesn't require any service and was not loose.
