I recently bought an 06 XLII. The door has wind noise. Even when I hold the door tight and lock it, it has varying degrees of wind noise. Annoying for such an expensive purchase. Any suggestions experienced owners out there?

I have the same problem (just not on an XLII) The previous owners(s) cobbled a bunch of different weather striping materials around the door seal. It work most of the time until I get into a cross wind (however it does look terrible). I purchased a new set of OEM weather strip directly from Prevost. I have not installed it yet (hopefully in the next few weeks). I may also investigate if I can get the air lock to pull the door in tighter if that does not cure the problem. Last place to look will be the hinges. I suspect they can be adjusted but I'll have to remove a bunch of trim to get to them. Hopefully I won't need to dig that far.

I have to have my little window open on the drivers side when I close it for it to seal tight. To much pressure in the bus.

I have replaced the seal but that did not fix it until Liberty adjusted the door.

I had the same issue a couple years back. I happened to be attending a small gathering of prevost's in Colorado {fat beagles were a no show) anyway Scott Parks also attended with his family, great folks. Scott at the time worked at Prevost Mira Loma (sp*) he was able to very quickly make some adjustments to the door that resolved the issue.
Long way of saying that someone with the knowledge and experience can fix the problem.

Patrick, What ever happened to Scott Parks. His wife used to post often.

Jim,
Been wondering on that myself, haven't seen anything from them for a long time. Maybe became to busy?
We enjoyed our time spent with them.
Don't know if Scott is still at Prevost or not I do know he was highly respected as a Prevost tech.
Hey what was the answer, Fosters summer place or DeSilvas winter home?

Patrick, I don't think we had a winner. Maybe it was Dator's out West home.

Scott is still around, he's working a lot up in Vancouver, Canada for Prevost. He lists himself as single on facebook.

Scott is a great man! Him and his wife got a divorce I believe last year. I'm friends with him on FB and like Gary said he's still working for Prevost Mira Loma.

Thank you everyone. I will try the little window open trick. If does not work, will take the bus up to the LA area to Prevost for a look.

Put a new striker in it. I completely eliminated a massive air leak on an 02 XLII with one. Couldn't have been any easier or less costly.

Thanks all. I had a new door striker installed, problem solved. Quiet perfection.

Easy fix, Joe was right. You can turn the radio down or enjoy the silence.

I find it remarkable the difference in what someone is hearing in the passenger seat and over by the wheel.
Not all but often the passenger is getting blasted and driving U almost here nothing.
Too bad the noise wasn't over by the driver it would be a great excuse when U haven't been listening to boss over on the passenger side:rolleyes:

Did you just change the striker or the spring and seal or the whole assembley?

Bernie All I did was simply a new striker.
Xls R much simpler than Hs that have 2 strikers.
If U ever opened up the door and marveled at the complexity of the latch mechanism in your XL yes its quite unusual but Hs R even better.
