Just got my motorcycle license and I am considering buying a lift for the bus so I can take the motorcycle and toad. Does anybody have an opinion (boy that's a dangerous question for this group) on if this makes sense, what are the weight limits and will it effect the handling of the coach? I looked at a bike today that weighed 350 lbs.

Bill,

Do a search for motorcycle lifts and you will find lots of information.

Bill,
Does your wife know you bought a bike? I know Linda and I'm certain when she see's it hanging off the back of your bus you are not going to convince her its a new external turbo charger you've installed to better the fuel milage.
Did DeSilva tell you this was a good idea?

Bill, call Roger at Signature coach on the west coast. He just put a huge lift on my neighbors CC. I'm sure he'll give you some ideas and prices. 9518806631

As I see it, you have 4 options.

1. The lifts that lower to the ground for easy loading and raise so that the towed vehicle can still run close to the coach. These will be the most expensive and heaviest. Weight shouldn't be a consideration with that light of a bike.
2. There are hitch mounts that simply pivot to allow you to load and unload the bike. These will be the lightest, but may prove too difficult to safely load and unload the bike, especially if you don't have help. These force you to install a faiirly long hitch extension to support the towed vehicle. I'm not a fan of long hitch extensions.
3. Take #2 and install it on your towed vehicle. This gives you the flexibility to take the bike places you aren't taking the coach. The biggest plus is it gets rid of the hitch extension described in #2.
4. Abandoned the idea of a motorcycle...we all have to at some point.
