COST OF OWNING A VEHICLE

AAA announced today that it now costs $9,122 per year if you drive your car for 15K miles. This includes maintenance, fuel, tires, insurance and depreciation. Maintenance now averages 4.97 cents per mile. If you don't look too closely and if you ignore depreciation, this makes the cost of owning a bus look a little less bad. I guess this means this tidbit of informaiton may make us feel a little better or a little worse according to whether we are an optimist or a realist. We know the pessimist is going to feel bad about eveything.

Appreciation is possible. I sold my first Prevost for more than what I paid for it after driving it over a year. As we all know, there's nothing drives like a Prevost, regardless of those little expenses that occasionally arise.
