Hey just though there should be a place to view photos that POG members take (not made up in photoshop) when your out and about in this Great country!

I'll start off by showing one that I took of our coach right after a quick rain. We were staying at The Islander RV Park in Lake Havasu, Arizona in 2005. We were getting ready to go out to eat when I seen our coach with the rainbow hitting it. We were driving away, I said stop the car, then got out and took this photo.

Holy XXXXX Dale that Picture is PRICELESS. Not one but TWO Rainbows.

Man life doesn't get any better than that. :)

I would send some great pictures of Peg and I in our Plastic coach, but I am sure they would get censored by LEW or someone ?

COOL IDEA OF THE PHOTO PICTURE PLACE....

Hope to be able to contribute someday :(

All's well that ends well.

I ran out of time in July 2004 and allowed Carrier to change out the bus air AC compressor. They left off the unloader valves and when challenged on it told me they were not necessary. We got 400 miles and the previous post shows the results.

Don't you know that all Libertys eventually burn? They are warrantied for 3 years or until destroyed by fire whichever comes first.

Here is a photo of "Cold Nebraska Morning"

It was -8 this morning and going to get to 8 today.

ps...I shoot out the kitchen window, I'm not going out!
Is everyone else cold too? Its quiet on this forum!

Dale, I spent 52 years in the snow and sub zero temps in foothills of the Adirondack mountains. Your pictures remind me of opening the slopes at Whiteface Mt. back in my ski patrol days. As breath taking as your pictures are and as vivid as my memories remain.........give me warmth and sunshine. Too many mornings began by snowblowing up to several feet of snow and assisting others out of the snow banks....now I go out on the porch with a cup of coffee wearing jeans and a tee shirt. Keep posting those temps and pictures lest I forget the reason I moved to the south. Ken

It's a rare morning just north of Portland (OR). Not so cold at 25 but as close to a blizzard we ever get at only 250' above sea level. Also through our kitchen window where the view is usually of the neighborhood runway. Look out Dale & Jan, it's headed your way. Brrrrr!

This could be a great long running thread, assuming everybody joins in.

Here is my first one, a picture of our bus at the turnout overlooking Crater lake in Oregon last SEPTEMBER on the way to POG II. The lake is right behind the coach. The water was crystal blue like the sky, so we were told!

OK, so this isn't one of the "great" pictures of a wonderful spot. But, it was one of the fun things of POG2. Six of us were caravaning on our first day heading towards Kingman Arizona.

There were six of us running together. I believe I was #5 at this point, so if you look carefully, there's four in front there!

Now THAT was fun ...

OOOPS! I just realized, this was day two! We left Kingman about 75 miles back, on our way to Gallup NM that day!!

Jim,

What did you mean 'yesterday it was 53'??? Inches of snow? That's why I steer clear of the Burton - Chardon are between October and March..... When are you planning on leaving for POG III? maybe we could hook up on the way out (or back)

JIM CHALOUPKA
01-17-2007, 10:33 PM
Orren, That 53* meant 53 degrees. Not inches. My keyboard does not have a degree symbol. You know though as well as I that we get too much snow here. " Lake effect".

I don't know yet when I will go to POG3. JIM

Auto exposure with a ISO rating at 800.

I only use aperture priority when I need depth of field and shutter priority when I need to control the
speed of exposure for sharpness in low light or blur in high light.

You guys are all correct, but you missed one. The location of the exhaust ports on the heads. The two center ports on the small block are almost siamesed together while big block the have a distinct seperation. Since you are all correct MM is in big trouble. Everyone gets a discount coupon. I suggest pooling the coupons and present them to Mike for a huge discount.

It's good around here, we had 3 inches of snow. We missed the ice.

If you remember at the end of December last year, we had our ice storm. We were without power for a week. We used the bus generator to power the house.

We had just went through the four corners region heading west. We were into Arizona about 4 miles
when we came onto this scene. A young truck driver decided he was headed the wrong way and
decided to turn around on a little two lane road. He got stuck when his tractor was in the sand.

We turned around and headed back about 10 miles and then took another road that went through part
of Utah to go around. The state police said no one could go around the trailer that was blocking the
road because people would get stuck in the hot sand. He couldn't get a hold of a wrecker so he told us
he didn't know how long it could be.

There were lines of cars on both sides plus trucks and Rv’s. It was 100 degrees and no one was
happy. The Rv’s and semi’s would have to back up the 4 miles on one side and about 12 on the other.

We had a good ride through Bluff Utah and then Monument Valley.

Dale, you are not going to believe this, but I promise you it's the truth. My younger brother lives in Bluff, Utah. He owned a company called Wild Rivers Rafting for many years based out of Bluff and sold out a couple of years ago. He was a hippie back in the 60's and moved from Texas to Colorado and ended up doing the river rafting deal. Never had a real job in his whole life and stayed in Bluff because he is the resident expert on the Anasazi Indians and city folks pay him to show them the Indian sights and tell um all about the Anasazis, most of which he has made up over the years.
I like that country and make a point to get out there every twenty years or so. ;)
