Bus A/C

Can anyone tell me where to get a fitting to charge the R134 for the bus A/C. I bought a 22oz can from Walmart but the connection was the wrong size

Unless you have technical knowledge and experience with AC systems I suggest extreme caution be used. Serious injuries can result from a valve being turned the wrong way and the freon can blowing up in the hands of the holder. The AC Compressor can explode the can of freon and overcharging a system can result in costly repairs. Be very careful.

The fittings have different sizes for each side of the compressor, one larger than the other, so you don't hook the can up to the wrong side. Check the other fitting.

If he is using a manifold guage set to add freon through the low side and by mistake opens the high side valve, head pressure which can be extreemly high if there is a restriction somewhere in the system, will enter the can of freon creating the possibility of an explosion.

Jim you are right I was assuming he was using the small hose and fitting that comes with the small refill cans that you would get a Walmart.

Are you sure you dont use freon 12 what year is your bus?

Good point. Are you talking about the dash A/C with the automotive style compressor or the an OTR A/C with a big compressor?

I dont see what kind of bus you have, but unless you have experience in A/C work, I would not try it. Best to go to a company which can deal with Bus A/C.
