That photo is my German drivers license photo taken when I turned 18 years old. Oh, that was 41 years ago.

The first picture was taken on the evening of my high school graduation in May 1973 (age 17).

The second picture was taken 38 years later (last July).

No Gary, it was taken when we traveled to Alaska in 2010. Thanks for the compliment; I'll pass it on to her.

Gary,
What were you traveling in when the Continental Divide picture was taken (surely not a Liberty)?

Hi Tuga. Volkswagon buses. I had a thing for VW's in my 20's. Had a few different types.
My buddy Gary Jones and I traveled thru out the North West and Central in 1970.
The VW would run forever, not very fast and no A/C but great for an inexpensive
trip. Gas was about 30 cents a gallon.

Boy that brings back some good memories. I had a friend who had a beetle; we went everywhere in that thing. You're right no AC and not very fast but it could run forever on a couple of dollars for gas. I think it got 36 mpg which we thought was terrific but by today's standards wasn't much. But back in the day, American cars got about 10 mpg!
