New members a few months ago. Still getting our feet wet, but having a great time. Have enjoyed all the banter and info on the site. We're boaters by background and starting to understand the different systems. Headed to Riverbend for the weekend, if anyone is around, please stop and say hello. Supposed to be in site 147. Don

Welcome to POG, Don & Cheryl! It's about time you stopped lurking and posted something! :p Be sure to add a signature for your posts listing the model, year, and converter of your coach, where "home" is and any other info you wish to share. By now, you've realized that the only "stupid" questions here are the ones not asked. Bring your warped sense of humor, your thick skin, your love of fun and jump in with both feet! Oh - and be sure to hide your sheep if you got 'em!

Don & Cheryl,

Welcome to POG! Give us a little update- what converter built your bus. What year is it? etc.

I have never stayed at Riverbend, but I've heard it is really nice.

Enjoy that "new to you" Prevost!

Years ago I had 2 Bertrams: the first was a 1981 38' Mark III sportfish. I loved it. We did mostly bluewater fishing (marlin, wahoo, tuna, & dolphin). We did some cruising to the Bahamas - Walker's Cay to Green Turtle and HopeTown. Those were some fun days - marine diesel in the USA was .50/gallon. My second boat was a 1986 Bertram 38' - it had 3208 CATs! I thought we were flying at 22 knots. Today, I'll bet the same size boat cruises around 30 knots!

What kind of boat did you guys have?

Beautiful boat Jack, but I was referring to a sport-fish model. I should have made that clearer.

I love the lines on yours though!

Don & Cheryl,

Welcome to POG!!

You can't beat South Florida in the winter for enjoying your bus. There's a wealth of knowledge and experience represented among the POG membership, so don't be bashful if you have a question or concern. On occasion, we even have correct answers!

Congratulations on your bus!

Jack, thinking that 40 mph would be about half throttle.

Welcome Don and Cheryl to POG. The best $25.00 you ever invested. You cant find anything like this group . Keep posting and asking questions , no question is too small. I could not tell by your post if you had purchased a coach.

Tuga, we currently have a 2002 Ocean SS 56. "Diligence" has 1050 mans, cruises at 30 knots and top end about 36. As for the bus she is a very lightly used 97 Liberty, can't believe how smooth she drives. We will be back to Riverbend the first weekend in March, for the show.

DonS,

Sounds like an awesome sportfisherman. I have heard nothing but good things about those MAN diesels.

I really like the lines on an Ocean sportfisherman. I like the wide beam and the forefront and the way the lines get smaller as you move toward the cockpit.

Could you post some pictures of "Diligence"?
