Made some calls today, one was to my friend at Detroit Diesel parts here in KC. After running the engine numbers Bob determined the sock was a item installed by Prevost and appeared to be mfg to Prevost specs. Called Prevost parts and priced out at $267 Canada item. Seeing Pittsburg Power site the picture appears the same with price at $327.
Think I'll go with the Prevost sock.

Why replacement of this item ? rock hard, cracked, has a tear. I would guess the sock was removed and suffered some damage.
