New Posts Disappear

What is the criteria for the length of time a new post remains on the board before it is moved to the forum main category?

Seems I can check the board in the AM and the topic is gone in as little as 4 hrs.

As soon as you read a post and leave the forum, it's gone unless someone else makes a post, but it will still show up on the main category. Does that help?

Thanks Tom, is this a new procedure? Don't recall things working this way in the past.

No, it's been that way a long time, but maybe Skiffer can better answer your question. I always select the "mark forum read" at the top of the page before I leave, then only new posts show up when I go back on line.
