Hydraulic Arms for Bay Doors

Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase the hydraulic arms that are part of either hinge on the bay doors? Prevost or Marathon will likely want a premium for them. Thanks for the help.

If you are describing the gas struts Prevost is very reasonable and you can find them on ebay as well.

Just make sure you get the correct ones as different doors may have different strength requirements.

The easiest way to get the correct ones is to order them via your VIN number. The different strengths are because not all doors are the same size and some doors the converter added weight to by using the door to hold the ZipDee chairs. In that case you likely need to order the strongest gas struts.

If the quality of the gas arms from Prevost is the same as the awning windows in the XLII I would recomend using another source

I would not recommend going with the heavy duty gas springs from Prevost even if you have chairs weighing down your door. Although they may last longer, the door becomes difficult to lower to the closed position. I use standard strength on mine.

Towson - how do you know which specific ones to buy? Is it based on VIN# and bay door position (i.e. - front curbside, #2 curbside, #3 curbside, rear curbside, etc.)? Also, please let us know when either of your bands is performing around Woodstock, Marietta, Canton, Ackworth again! We love coming to hear/see you play!

Reynolds Plantation is a little far for a Sunday night, but we will most probably see you at Brewsters on the 23rd and will most likely bring the bus - just because we can! :rolleyes:

There are, in fact two "strengths" available, the "standard" 200 lb-force version (P/N 980024) and the 300 lb-force version that was offered for doors which the chair holders on the back (P/N 192226). There is a substantial price difference in the two. Hope that helps.
