Woody,
If you are referring to Sonoma California, I would suggest a great little park a little further north in Napa. This is my favorite part of California. The climate is great, food and wine is the best in the world and there are many things to do within a couple of hours drive.
We spent a week at Napa Valley RV Park. Very friendly folks that can assist you in planning your outings.

Have fun!

There are no RV parks in Sonoma. Napa is 15 miles east. The best bet by far in the area is the Napa Fairgrounds RV Park.
http://www.napavalleyexpo.com/f-rvs.html. There is also an adequate, nothing fancy, very tight RV park in Novato 20 miles towards San Francisco. http://novatorvpark.com/. And another even less fancy, in San Rafael which is even closer to San Francisco. http://www.marinrvpark.com/newsite/index.php

Another alternative is the Napa Valley Fairgrounds (http://www.rvfair.org/napa.html) in Calistoga, another twenty miles up the Silverado Trail in Calistoga. Very nice but reservations are a must, especially around harvest time (late August) and Fair Time (4th of July). Try to avoid highway 29 north of Napa and use the Silverado Trail. Calistoga has very easy access to the Valley of the Moon (Sonoma) however I would not consider using the bus to traverse those roads.
