Yesterday I was shut in the bus, due to cold weather and the flue so I thought what better to do than check out an air leak I had been putting out of my mind. That leak was in the bath area and would occur every time the bed was raised and lowered.
The pictures will do the talking for those interested in performing the task. I performed the same operation on both ends of the valve assembly.
This is a 3 on the scale of 10 in difficulty. Tools required, screw driver, pliers a new safety razor blade.
Due to age the blue material had its sealing surface compromised and needed to be renewed, hence the .020 thickness of material removed from the valve rubber insert. IMHO this failure was due to "RUBBER" and "AGE".
The valve new retails for $171.00.
