A/C Condenser Fan Will Not Shut Off

My aft a/c condenser fan continues to run after I have shut the A/c OFF at the a/c control panel. The only way I can get it to shut off is to turn the circuit breaker off at the main control panel.

Any ideas on finding the problem? Could the relay for the a/c be sticking?

That sounds like you mean the aft Cruise Air condenser fan. There is a relay in the condensing unit, but I cannot remember if it is for the compressor or the fan. If you mean the evaporator fan that may indicate a problem with the SMX control.

Does it remain off after you restore the power via the circuit breaker? Will it shut off if you turn the unit off at the SMX panel?

This is a long shot, but you can reboot the SMX panel by doing the following:

Hold down the "FAN", "OFF", and "SET" buttons simultaneously. Then immediately press "SET" again.
