Over the last three days of mountain driving the differential oil temp has steadily raised to 230 degrees after about 7 hours.
The book says OK up to 250 but I have never seen this high before.
To worry or not?
Tad,
In our 92 Angola, the highest I ever saw was right at 240. We were pulling the grade from Denver to the Eisenhower Tunnel and were using a fair amount of the long pedal on the right. I would see 215 to 230 rountinely during the summer in Texas on longer drives. If you are concerned about the temps you could switch to a syntethic oil.
