View Full Version : Normal Oil Pressure for Powertech 20 Kw Diesel Generator
The oil pressure on my generator drops to 35-40 psi once it reaches operating temperature of around 195 degrees. The oil pressure sensor has already been changed.
This seems low to me - what are other people seeing?
Thanks,

Mine runs at 40 psi at 1800 rpm. I consider it normal.

How are reading the temp and pressure? Do you have probes and mechanical guages or are they electrical signals?

Mine runs in the same area 35-45 once at operating temps. I believe that is normal and adequate

Greg: The Country Coach I have is equipped with a display panel that gives me oil psi, temp, cycles, rpm and an hour meter.
Liberty owners don't need to know all that stuff- do they?

Knowing stuff like that is just more to worry about.

Cycles meaning hz, or times started/used?

Ken: I have to have at least ten characters to repond on this thread. There are lot more characters than that on this forum.
The answer is Hz.
I finally tracked down the right person at Powertech - they said that anything above 20psi was fine. The low pressure cutoff does not activate until 4 psi.
Thanks,
Killeen
