Hi Greg,

Do you tow your Excursion? My Ford dealer told me they can't be towed. If there's a mod to make them towable, I'd be interested please.

Thanks,

John, Yes I tow it. I have put on a REMCO drive line disconnect, M & G brake system, added extra bulbs to the rear lights for tow signals ( so I don't have to tie into the car system). Mine is a diesel 4x4 so I keep the rig in two wheel drive so the front axle turns freely and I disconnect driveline for the rear axle, shifter in PARK and key to first click so the steering wheel turns. After many attempts to use the complete driveline made by REMCO I finely went with the buying the disconnect and having a local driveline company fit it to the driveline.

John I use a Blue Ox base plate and tow bar. Make sure you get the model years right on ordering the base plates. The older one will not fit on a 2005 style bumper. You have to remove the two tow hooks in the front and replace them with the Blue Ox base plates.
