Has anyone been involved with removing the Gaggenau Cooktop found in many conversions.

I am looking for a nondestructive method.

I don't know if it is mechanically fastened to the underside of the counter top or bonded with something like silicone or perhaps both.

Maybe Sikaflex  I hope not!

Jim, in my Liberty it's mounted just like a drop-in sink. There are 3 or 4 screws underneath that you'll back off and a latch swings away. You'll probably have to remove some drawers. The cooktop lifts right out. You might have to peel back heat protective foil. You'll probably also have to undo a bracket or two from the cord. It's hardwired to the cooktop. Turn of the breaker. Why do you need to take it out?
