This has nothing to do with busses other than the fact that we took one here.

The American Royal is the World Series of BBQ competition right here in Kansas CIty, MO. Over 580 teams competing for cash and bragging rights with 80 teams in the Invitiation Division and about 490 teams in the Open Division. We're here as guests of Bethany Blues BBQ right on site and I have to say it's pretty exciting (of course it pales in comparison to an evening with Lew and his Bride). The event officially starts on Friday, but tonight we were the show as we shoe horned the Mothership into a space next the the Bethany BBQ smoker. We had to parallel park the bus, between two other contestants in only 52' feet of room, in a very packed parking lot at Kemper Arena.

Yes we have pictures of the clearance.

Oh boy. THis is going to cost me some Lew bucks. Calling it so close, forgot about the roadmaster on the back.

More pixs to come of the Pig Fest. JW will be drooling. Jon will still claim he's the rib champ and Ken will be climbin' on the back of Ellen's Harley for the trip out.

Mango,

What are those two black barrels in the attachment 213 photo? Auxiliary fuel tanks for the journey to SF? or 100 gallons of BBQ sauce?

Those belong to the guys who trailer I customized w/ my Roadmaster.

He's a purist and believes in cooking w/ the 50 gallon barrells. We'll be sampling his wares today.

How in the world did you get that bus in that space?

If it was a boat I could understand: put one engine in forward and the other engine in reverse and walk it in sideways. Prevosts don't walk sideways do they? Great pictures.

I have a friend, Jim Neely, who owns Interstate Bar-b-que in Memphis. If you see him tell him I said hi!

Tuga,

I'm going to definetly use your name if I can find him. Jim Neely is famous in the BBQ biz and is always mentioned in any serious bbg handbook/cookbook.

Now don't kill the messenger on this post.

But according to some Texan, this is the only good use of Cessna.

The BobCat Cooker. Although you can tell the guy is not a purist as he's using lighter fluid to start the coals.

This has to be the coolest cooker in the world. And as clean as the A1's bus.

For JW. Is nothing sacred.

Hey, I met Jim Neeley in Memphis on the Spring Break BBQ tour. He was admiring our coach and said he had a pretty new Newell. He seemed really more interested in the Hummer we were towing, but a nice man with some great BBQ.

Well the Prevo induced dent in the Texas Rib Rangers red trailer brought him some good luck.

He placed FIRST out of 550 contestants for the worlds Best Pork!

VERY EXCITING! Plus a check for $5000.
