There is a 2002 Royale Coach for sale on EBAY now. Does anyone know anything about this coach or any history of it?

Hey there is a 97 Royale in the FMCA magazine too. Do you think we would miss that one?
Care to make a formal announcement?

Jon, You know that story!! Nothing has changed. Just continuing to look for the 45ft and if it happens, it happens. Ed said that we know all of you so well that we don't really need a bus- We will just shack up with one of you because all of you have 45s. We will hop from one bus to another. That way we won't wear out our welcome;)
At least we are speaking now. The last time this issue came up and I didn't like the bus he liked, it was quite around here for a LONG TIME:(

Lance Cunningham Ford here in Knoxville had a XLII Royale. He took it in trade on a boat.
I think Roger told me he had it listed on a dealer's auction site. As I recall it was around $300,000 which seemed a little pricey.

Jon, do you think that this is the same bus? Ed said that there is No Reserve and also there is no VIN #. At least we had to put a VIN# on ours in FMCA magazine. No Baiting!!
Any info is appreciative. We still love our 97 and don't have to get rid of her!!:) Truk and Nancy know the feeling of selling your baby!!

The bus on Lance Cunningham's site used to belong to a POG member who lives in Knoxville. He traded Lance his bus for a boat that Lance owned. It's a pretty bus. I saw it the day he traded it.

I can easily go look at it, but I suggest before I do if you like it see if he is willing to deal.

It is a pretty bus, Eric. Ed put a bid in on the EBAY one so we will see what happens there first. I have to say, I don't care for the black tile on the Cunningham one and also $300,000 is too much.
We will see what happens.
Thanks.

Go for it!! I though I might bid a little to make you dig up another jar, but was afraid I might win so best of luck.

I like that 2002 Marathon XL II dual slide; like the inside layout and colors. The outside has orange and blue (Gator colors) but I really like it.
The bidding ends in a few hours. Presently, it is at $300,600 with 16 hours before the bidding ends. It is located in Lewisville, TX.
How much is a fair price for it?

Ed & Sandy:
Are you talking about the bus in Morristown Tn? That's a pretty bus. I have seen it advertised before on the web some time ago, apparently didn't get it sold. Hard times here in Tennessee.
Y'all bring that old stale money out of them Jars in Florida and come on. You can hang out here while you do the secret handshake. We are about 50 miles away.
I'm getting excited and don't even have a dog in the race.

Tuga, Marathon is the seller of that bus. "Fair Price" doesn't come into play.

You can bet the auction will go away unless they get a high enough bid and then 9 out of 10 times, the winner is the seller (good ole boy buddy bid) and you see it again later.
Sandy - I would ask for updated pictures, things could really change in almost two years since the pictures were taken. I do think you would look really good in it though!;)

I agree with you, Truk. New pictures would be great! Can't even leave a voicemail on their phone number they give you for serious buyers for trades with antique cars(we do have a few of those). Their voicemail is full.

Hope it works out for you. I know you've been looking. I think you should just bite the bullet and go for a new one--just to help the economy.

Sad to say, it wasn't us:(. Just couldn't go that far and still own our precious bus we already have. TBC would have been too much with $265K. I was almost there though. Someone wanted it and I think it wasn't meant to be for us. Good Luck and Congrats to the new owner(if NEW owner?) Thanks for thinking of us though, Alek. Keep them coming.

I'll bet that it wasn't sold. My thoughts would be that the owner was the highest bid. Its a privately owned coach but there must be a lein thats why it shows the title is at the bank. I'm pretty sure I know who the owner is and I don't believe he's a pog member. Sandy I would give them a call I'll bet its still available.

Andre---yes, I have looked at that one. I wonder about the taxes you would have to pay? Honestly, it didn't really tickle my feathers that much. I am picky at times.:D
Rick, I sure did like that bus I have to say. I had text the girl the night before the bidding ended and just asked her what they were truly looking for when the bid was at $225 and she text back saying $265, so you could be exactly right! I guess that it doesn't hurt to call and ask them again:confused: Thanks.

I would suspect that there are owners out there that bought a coach just before the prices started their descent into the cellar and if they financed for a long term, or most of the purchase price their loan balance exceeds the current value.
The banks are praying those owners keep making payments, and the owners don't know whether they are on foot or horseback. Upside down doesn't begin to describe how bad it can be in some cases.
If that coach is heavily financed and the owner is not in a position to take a price like $265,000 the chance of getting a higher price is slim to none, and what's worse, the chance as bad as it is to get more money, only gets worse with every passing day. In business when I had an interest in buying a business and the owner was in a similar situation where the debt exceeded the value, my only recourse was to ignore the owner, and wait for bankruptcy and then talk to the secured creditors who were always more realistic. If a bank owns the coach they will talk especially if it can be demonstrated that delaying a sale is an expensive alternative given how quickly a coach falls into disrepair if it is not used and maintained.

Jon, your thoughts are simiuliar to mine. We did not go the full race, and stopped at my limits. When we stopped the price went to $265 in a heart beat. We may see it again.

The bus on Ebay that Jon just posted about is the bus that was owned by our friends in Knoxville. It is the one on Lance Cunningham Ford's lot.
