While performing some other maintenance work, I stumbled upon a quarter-turn valve that I hadn't noticed before.
It's apparently a coolant line but I don't know what it feeds or the implications of the valve being in the open or closed positions.
Any comments?
Thanks.....!

I believe that handles coolant for the house, either through the Webasto, or the heat exhanger in the OTR system.
It and a related line parallel one another and go across the drivers side, top of the rear wheel area in copper, terminate in a six inch hose connector and continue into another pair of copper tubes going forward, but out of sight.

Thanks, Jon.
Mine was originally in the off position, so I turned it on to see what difference it might make.
I'll need to take the bus on a short trip to find out..

Paul,
You probably never use the heaters. Have you ever used the Webasto?, The OTR heat function?

Jon,
I've used the Webasto, and try to run it for at least an hour or so once every couple of weeks.
But, I've never used the OTR heat. Probably would be a good idea to try it just to see if it works!

Those are sometimes closed when the coolant is replaced and forgotten to re open.

Paul,
You are in Florida man. You can't check on a heating system when the outside ambient air temps are already elevated. You will need to go as far north as say Pennsylvania to give it a valid check. Let me know when you are coming by and we'll do lunch!
I second or third the valve being OTR heating related.

Hey Will,
As a matter of policy, I don't venture north of I-4 before April 15 :D
Ya just never know when that rare bit of frost just might still be lurking around

Paul,
Not to worry. We had our first frost last week. The rest of them are not woth mentioning. However, there is a hint of some white stuff in our forecast for the weekend. If you hurry you can make it up here, run your heater check and high tail it back to Florida all before the hint gets here!
