There will be an antique heavy truck show October 2-3 at OKC. I have attended a couple of these and found them pretty interesting. On the cover of the American Truck Historical Society magazine this month is a 1946 Flxible bus converted to a motorhome. The flex is based in OKC so I presume it will be there. The show is at the Petro Truck stop 20 MLK blvd. and hwy 40. It is being sponsored by a regional chapter so no telling how large/small turnout will be.

Hey that sounds like real fun, I'd go to that Sat afternoon, but I'd need a ride.

One of my former co-workers from Halliburton will have his 1957 truck tractor there and the Petro is just a few miles south of the RV park. Should be an interesting deal as I ran on to them in Phoenix a couple of years ago and the show there was great. Bunch of FWD trucks and such. Way cool.

I'll try to persuade Carole to go. It could involve some bartering but I think I can get it done. I'll have room for two, maybe three if you are real friendly. Should we gather at the meeting hall and go as a caravan?

I like old things because I am becoming one!

If anyone went to the show how was it?

Jim,

We went late on Saturday. I'm sure several trucks had already left. Here are some photos of those that remained at the Petro. Hey, wasn't this event your suggestion?

The pictures bring back memories of the mid sixties powering up the Colorado mountain passes at 15 MPH with all 220 horsepower of cummins with no turbo. The plume of balck smoke would put one in jail today. Of couse there was the creeping down hill with no jake brake holding about 15 psi on the brakes to prevent over heating them. Give me a S60 with 500 HP.
