Lee and I are planning to visit the Reagan Library in the near future. A question to the California boys 'Any suggestions on a big rig friendly rv Park near the Reagan Library?'.

Your help is appreciated.

Hector: I'm not aware of any place nice that is really close to Simi Valley, but if you don't mind a bit of a drive I suggest Valencia Travel Village in Castaic. It is on Highway 126 just west of I-5. About 15 miles as the condor flies over the mountains from the library, but probably more like 40 miles to drive there. If you like amusement parks, it is right near Magic Mountain. I store my bus there and have seen a few big Prevost gatherings -- likely the "Prouds". It is a very nice park, with lots of tree coverage and nice, big spaces, a nice pool and nice people. Their phone is 661-257-3333. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Hector, We've stayed at the Valencia Travel Village and considering there are so few choices in the area, rate it very good. It has nice some nice amenities, is safe and there is an interesting place to take a walk in the neighboring dry river bed. We actually prefer the Ventura RV Park however for its spaciousness, easy walk to the beach, nice grassy areas and large pull through sites. The only drawback being its close proximity to the freeway. The driving time, about an hour, to the Reagan Library is approximately the same from both RV parks. http://www.ventura.com/activities/camping/ventura_rv/.

From an overall standpoint, don't know your experience with driving in Socal traffic but I find it much less nervewracking to drive the bus during the hours just before sunrise when the traffic is very light. Enjoy the Library, it's well worth the effort.

Hector,

When we've had friends come into Southern CA, we quite often suggest that they stay in one of the Disneyland area resorts. It's still about a 40 minute drive to the library, however you are much closer to other things of interest, like Disneyland, the beach, and not to mention us So Cal guys, who love to get together for dinner with visiting friends!

Give me a buzz if you're coming into town, we'd all love to get to meet you in person (before OKC :D )

When JDUB and Loc have been out here, they have stayed at Anaheim RV Resort. http://www.anaheimresortrvpark.com‎

We stayed there with a small group over New Years this last last year.

Another nice one we've sent people to is Anaheim RV Village http://www. anaheimrvvillage.com‎

There are a few more in the general area, but I don't have any experience with them. Go to google, and search "RV parks near Anaheim, CA", and you'll get several.

The two above have spaces big enough for our buses.

Gary, I think your suggestion on the park in Northridge will work. It is about 25 miles from each of 3 areas I need to visit. Thanks a million.

Gary, the location was perfect, we called for a reservation and found they could not take a 45' coach. So the search continues!
