My wife and I will do a west to east coast trip and return in late June through mid July. I-40 from LA to Atlanta and return. Any suggestions for overnights in Albequerque, Amarillo, Little Rock (going) and Memphis, Amarillo, and Flagstaff on the return. Any suggestions appreciated. Also, great restaurants if you have recommendations.

Thanks,
Richard and Audrey Barnes

In Amarillo there is a very nice new resort called the Oasis. West end of town.

IN Gallup I've generally stopped at USA RV Park, (discount to Veterans)

Just north of Albuquerque is Santa Fe, and the Santa Fe Skies RV Park

Tom Sawyer Mississippi River Campground in West Memphis, Arkansas. The overlook the Mississippi and you can watch the tow boats day and night run the river. It is a couple miles off of the interstate but it beats the Graceland campground hands down. The website is www.tomsawyersrvpark.com.

We stayed here last February waiting out a bad ice storm up north by Branson. Right on the Arkansas River across from the Clinton Presidential library and adjacent to the Riverfront Area. All in all a nice place and reasonable . Take I530 south in towards town while heading east and get off just before crossing river. Park is on North East side of river. Really pretty easy to get into and out of. Good Fueling stops on East side of town I40 when leaving

We've stayed at American Way Rv Park in Albuquerque up I-40 west of the fling J, a tight fit. Enchanted Trails on the other side of I-40 next to Camping World has better sites with few trees.
Flagstaff, we stay at Black Barts across the street from the Sinclair Truckstop.. Its not much to look at, but has 50 amp, plus water and sewer real cheap.
Friends have stayed at the Meteor Crater RV park right off I-40, 30 or so miles east of Flagstaff.
Happy Trails

Hmmmmmm a trailer park directly across from the Clinton library, I wonder if James Carvil would want to comment on that?

Very authentic - Slick can keep an eye on his concubines that way...

I enjoy reading every one's adventures here and it occurred to me if we could get in the habbit of "Title our posts here with the name of the state" and then maybe start the first sentence of the post with the name town this could be real convenient and helpful while on the road and planning trips

We could have our own personal Big Rigs book, better.

I volunteer Dalej to make another map for the subject, better yet.

Actually, I think it was FMCA had a rally there with about 400 MH, I was surprised, actually, my timing seems off, everytime we see a rally that we want to get to, we have a trip already planned. Is this fair? How will I ever get my wife squared away on how to adjust our day/night blinds so that they are level, or is that just another case of the "Leans" getting to me. Here we are next week leaving NW Arkansas to Colorado looking at a different route to see kids/grankids just North of Colorado Springs. We thought an I-40 to I-25 then north maybe slip up through Taos and into Grand Jct and come back into Denver via the "Back Door"

You might want to stay in Williams in stead of Flagstaff. Not to far apart and more choices there. We stayed at the Railside and enjoyed the train.

Also, depending on the legs you are driving, if you end up in OKC, Twin Fountains is the location of the next POG rally and is a nice stop.

We stayed at the Amarillo Ranch, which is okay but close enough that the Big Texan Steakhouse will come pick you up in this;

We have also stayed at Railside in Williams. Very nice and friendly folks. You would think they were Southerners. Would stay there again
