Just got a truck stop axle weight. Full fuel, 2 people, normal travel stuff for 2-3 months winter travel, MT gray and black, Full fresh water.
actual/max
Steer----14920/16500
Drive-----20000/20400
Tag-----12140/12000
No idea the left to right balance but the tag is over by 140lbs.
The question is, If I add weight to the front bays will this act like a teeter toter and lighten the tag. The weight shift would have to come from the bays as the interior is not really loaded heavy aft.
Thanks for the help.

Full of gear fuel and water good job that is how to check.
That puts you at 47000 and so, relatively speaking, reasonably light.
140 over on the tag is totally insignificant.
Adding to the front will not eliminate weight on the tag, you knucklehead;) nice try.
If you add weight in the front bay most of it will go on the steer but there will be some of that weight that will end up on the rear. Not much but some WILL transfer to the rear. Unless your adding it to the front bumper any more you add will result in this manner.
If your tag gets to 1000 over then you should START to be a LITTLE concerned. IMO

JOE, I guess what I should have said was; move weight from the aft bays to the forward bay, not ADD weight to the forward bay. Even I know that is dumb!

Larry I hope you were not offended I apologize if you were.
Yes moving weight forward would do that.
You should have absolutely nothing to worry about in your current configuration. You are good to go.

Joe, Heck No I take no offense, I'm not sure what you are refering to.
I guess I have tipped my hand, I'm as anal as the rest of this group.

Larry, how much fuel and water can you carry?
Do you have independent front suspension?
What size tires do you have?
Are the max weights off of the plaque by the drivers seat?

Did you try sliding your fifth wheel?

Jim, Yes the max wts. are from the placard. I have 208 gal.fuel 165 gals. of water when full w/heaters. IFS and 315 tires.
Orren, don't have a clue what you are asking. Is sliding the 5th wheel like propwash or a bag of ohms?

Thanks Larry, I'm trying to get a handle on what's going on in the field.
My plaque reads S 14,600 D,20,400 T 12,000 = 47,000
As far as I can tell our two buses are alike except for the IFS, I wonder where yours gets the extra total weight allowance? I didn't think IFS was that much stronger, if at all?
I got a weight with full fuel 298g, and full water 160g, just me in the bus and about 80# of baggage. I wonder if the bus was rerated and nothing different was done?
My weight was S 14,360 D&F combined 32,800 = 47,160
You can max at 48,900 which is 1,900 more capacity than mine.
Where did the capability come from??
