Blue LED's

I guess we have crossed over to the Dark Side. We installed blue LED's in our entertainment bay with the TV & refrig. The blue is a soft background and the LED's do not draw much power. We have had many positive comments at the campgrounds. Ken & Ellen

Boy I'm kind'a wondering if we need to stay at POGII longer...by the time we get done looking at all the places the LED's are, it will be time to go home! I'm starting to think all the Prevost owners are just going to be talking LED's, except for Jon, I think he will need a friend.

Now, are you telling us that blue LED's use up less power than clear or other color LED's? I doubt it. The softer loght could be from a less powered bulb but the amount is nearly immeasureable.

Whatever you do, don't go following Mango and Jerry with those wimpy 8 LED side marker lights with colored lenses. I don't know what they were thinking it's like upgrading from their old circa 1973 bulbs to 1990's bulbs. :D

I saw a set of these SuperBrite LED side marker lights (or something just like them) on a Country Coach when I was at one of the Prevost service centers. They have TWENTY LEDs in each one! :eek: Not only that, but the lens is clear and the plastic reflecter that surrounds the LED's looks like chrome, so they disappear into the polished stainless when they are off and they blind you when they are on. They look very cool going from clear/chrome to amber when they are blinking.

The guy that had them on his coach said he picked them up at a Chrome Shop near a Flying J's in Texas... might have been just South of Dallas?

Ben has just proven the rule as relates to trying to keep up with the Jones'.

This is true whether you are buying a new coach or trying to update the old one.

The guys that thought they were on the cutting edge in April, and have been thinking they were ahead of the curve are going to show up in Santa Fe with vintage LEDs. I love it.

I on the other hand have maintained the original integrity of my coach and it is a rare, unmodified and very valuable pristine example of how coaches should be.

All you guys with LEDs, eat your hearts out.:D

Since Jon has turned his back on the quest to be on the foreskin of technology, Mike and I have raised the bar and encouraged others to follow and excel.

Since Jon is the repository of all old bus parts, he may end up with a set of LED marker lights afterall. And he broke the sacred rule when he painted his Series 60 a pukey shade of Tractor Supply green. You loose the originality part old timer.

But a Liberty guy can't pass up that kind of bling. They can talk about it, they can deny it, but in the end the same gene that led them to a coach decorated in whorehouse chic will cause them to put LED lights on their coach, in their bays and in other areas of interest.

And I am with Dale. I think the non-LED guys have now become the dark side.

We also have some LED converts out there still in the closet. You know who you are.

When I went out the CES show last January I ran across a company displaying there with all sorts of LED based lights. I was suprised to see LED based head lights too! They indicated that they were street legal! :rolleyes:

There is a direct parallel to this situation in aviation.

Currently there is a mad rush amongst plane drivers to fill their panels with oversize Game Boys. (You all know who you are, too.)

What is unspoken is the planes can't do a thing better than the steam gauge planes. They just do what they do with a video game. But it makes the guys that fly them think they are better pilots, so I guess there is a need.

Some of us can drive without LEDs.

Ahhh, I dunno. We have LED lites stock on the Vogue.

I am thinking about going incandescent to tone down the stock, OEM Bling. As a guy who is trying to be simple, it isn't easy to rip all the fancy stuff down just to let another guy get The Cooker.

Do most of you guys have 12v running and marker lights that you convert to led's more easily? Seems most of the good stuff is 12v.

I wish we did. I posted something about this somewere else. Unfortunatly we have 24 volt Everything lit on the bus side accept headlights and cigirette lighter. I think alot of the components are similar to Dale and Jan. Although I,ve never seen another Hickok conversion there are alot of elements in our camper that Ive seen in Country Coach and other converters. The window treatment and wood surrond, the laminants, the countertops,and such. I,m not sure but it sounds like some of the newer busses went to 12volt.

Don't pull that choir boy act with me. I saw you pimpin around all those Libertys at POG1 and I think you even owned a Liberty, so give it up.

But now that Ben posted that photo of the $2.5 M LewBuck coach, I'm thinking the Libertys have lost some of their luster. It all looked pretty metrosexual to me, but being an oil field guy, I am sure the style apex is somewhere in our orbit :cool:

I worked in Venezuela at one time and thought it was the roughest place I had ever been. Then I went to Nigeria. It reset the scale of how bad bad can be. I think we have seen the same thing happen here.

Jerry has really gone bonkers now... He's installed a waterfall/fireplace in his coach... he put it in the second bay on the passenger side. The only problem is that he's using the water from his gray water tank so it varies from clear to brownish every half hour. Do you belive what a man will do to get bling?

You are posting that stuff faster than I can buy it. I hate taking off my skull and crossbones screw head covers I have on my Prevost license plate trim ring, but these LED screw lights have some Lew'esk appeal.

Mike has already cost me a bunch of LewBucks this past week. His Cool Tools link has casued the UPS man to make a few stops on Cypress Pond Drive. The best item I got was the Tick Twister.

The Tick Twister is only $4, so it shouldn't nut into your bling budget by much.

I really think you need to start thinking about your personal appearance now that your coach has so much bling. You might want to start with an Walluminate ("http://cre.ations.net/creation/25"), since it should help when all the non-LED non-bling loosers have to pay up for your blinginess. (watch the video to see how it will help when you're outside at night).

Those clear/chrome LED sidemarker lights are my favorite. I saw them on a Prevost in Jacksonville and they blew me away. They've almost got me into the LED game, but I'm waiting for the Xenon HID sidemarkers to be released. You have to run the generator to use them, but they sure are bright. :D

Oh, now you tell me. The stupid Amazon account is in her name, so when I included the Tick Twister in the DVD order, it came in a separate box and was drop shipped from the Tick Twister people and it had her name on the package.

She was not kind when she opened it up and the Tick Twisters came falling out. I told her I was actually getting them for her mother so she could remove those skin tags from around her neck.

What a mistake that was.....:(
