Inverter Hummmmmmmmmmmmsssssssssss

I have three Combi 458-30 inverter/chargers in my coach. One only works if the generator is running, the other two work off shore power or generator. Why, I don't know I bought the bus that way. On shore power and in the charge mode they hum like crazy, have done so since I have owned it (2002). I always thought it was my radio speakers didn't like the current when the chargers were turned on. Yesterday I heard the hum and but my ear to all speakers, no hum. Zeroed in on it coming from below the floor, bingo inverter bay. I turn the charger mode off and the hum goes away, turn it on and it's back.

Xantrex says "8 years old, they always have hums but only get louder with age. no solution." $800 minimum to work on.

Anyone else have this problem and if so has it gotten worse with age?

I would check the fans on the inverters. They hum very loud when they are going bad.
