I spent the morning on the floor of the NYSE speaking with our specialist last week and was able to catch up to one of our POG brethern who is in exile just a few blocks over.

Anyway, I give him a call and he tells the whole AIG braintrust "BITE ME" and we meet up for lunch.

He has a salad and water while I eat a hamburger with iced tea - $78. And you thought Prevost stuff was expensive.

$78...that's cheap for what you got. Things must be tough in NY. I miss those $18 Coors Lights....not

Probably the fanciest BBQ joint in NYC.

Wow, it was nice to see a familiar face after 7 weeks in the fourth circle of Hell. Thanks Jerry for picking up the tab. After taxes in NYC, the tab would have been about a week of pay in my new government job.

If you get a copy of the interview with El Queso Grande of Boots and Coots in the Oil and Gas Financial Journal (I am holding it in the picture that is blurry - the October 2008 magazine) make a note to ask the ol Flamesnuffer why he is so clean. It looks like a photoshop job to me. And yes while JDUB just gave me the reprint, he is on the cover - one of the guys in my office in Houston called to ask me if I had seen it. Our own POG Coverboy. Whodathunkit?

JDUB / Loc, you guys look right at home in those city slicker clothes your wearing? NOT

So Loc, if you need me to take your bus out of the barn for a weekend to be sure it is still opeating properly, just let me know. Mine is still up in Ft. Worth and I miss her badly... Won't be able to pick her up till around the first or second week of Dec. Man, I needs my bus back.

Hope things are going ok for you in NYC ??? I know you miss home.

They are replacing the slide ss roof panel as well as adding some roof supports in the slide room. All of this is under warranty, which is great.

And then they have to put paint the roof and put all the furniture all back together, and then there are some other minor things I want them to do, and the list goes on.

AND I WAS WONDERING WHY THE MARKET IS CRASHING!!!!! Those two guys from Houston were near Wall Street.
Also, I can't imagine eating a hamburger on a white table cloth. What is this world coming to?

JDUB, real classy to take a government employee out for lunch. What, you just happen to have a digital camera in your pocket while on the floor of the Exchange? Less classy.

Loc, our mail at the office has been late twice so far this month. Please look into downturn in the quality of service, unacceptable. We expected much more.

Mel,

For you guys who still use slide rules and listen to 8 track tapes, most cell phones are equipted with digital cameras. Or at least the ones they don't sell in East Texas for $19 at WalMart.

You should get out here on the foreskin of technology. Did you know they can record your voice without using any kind of magnetic tape?

JDUB, glad to know about Walmart selling cell phones. My bag phone needs a new strap and I'm parked at the Gadston, Al. Wallyworld as we speak. I'll walk over and check it out.

If I had remembered that Alabama is ranked where they are, I would have stayed home. My gosh folks, it's only football.

Oh, by the way, congratulations on the magazine cover shot. Please tell us there's NO centerfold.
