Anyone ever used this resort? Good? Bad?

Any other Outer Banks recommendations for over the Thanksgiving Holiday?

Hello Woodchips,

Have you tried http://www.htpresort.com/? Carole and I have stayed there twice when I had some work to do on the NC 58 traffic lights. We liked it a lot. The roads are paved the spaces are not. I think we stayed in the RED section which can put you at the high ground within the park and gets you a view of the ocean over the dunes.

From Raleigh take US 70 to NC 24 in Morehead City. Turn south for about 20 miles then left on NC 58 in Cape Carteret. Go over the bridge to the first traffic light, Coast Guard Road, and take a right. The park office is immediately on your left. Its the second driveway into convenience store and Valero Gas station.

We'll be out of state for the Thanksgiving Holiday or would seriously consider joining you on the coast.

Thanks Will. That Emerald Isle recommendation looks pretty good. I think we are going to try for Hatteras Island. Buxton, Frisco, Hatteras Village, Salvo, Waves, Rodanthe, all the usual suspects. We'll be hoping we don't get a "noreaster". Sound side fishing is good from what I've been hearing. I might try feeding the fish some bait.

You would be welcome with us any time. Give me a heads up when you get up to Raleigh, we'll get some lunch.
