View Full Version : Lake Tahoe /Planning Trip Out West
We are doing some planning for our next big trip this coming spring and one spot we would like to spend time at is Lake Tahoe (Unless we learn Differently). Has anyone heard of this RV park? and where else would you recommend.

Bruce, I am sorry I don't know of a good place for you in Lake Tahoe, HOWEVER, I am pretty sure the one you pointed out won't work for you.....:o
"93 newly redesigned RV sites, some with lake views, accommodating vehicles up to 40' long" Taken from their website...
Gary S.
They could have used a better design team for their 93 new sites. I have found however that 40 feet sometimes means 40' of pad and that can be ok based on the wheel base. Lot depends on egress though.

Harry & Darl are from that neck o' the woods... They will know!
If you look around Minden NV just below LT, there is a place called The Carson Valley Inn. Hotel/casino/RV..
The RV parking is really tight there, if you don't get an end spot it would be tough in my opinion...

Bruce,
I checked Woodall's campground directory, and they show that Big Rigs are welcome. I am guessing that the 40' length is a typo or just an error. I can't imagine a campground today adding sites that could only accomodate a 40" coach. I think that this is the kind of error you see when a Liberty Elegant Lady is advertised as having a gas engine and holding 100 gallons of water! The pinhead writing the ad know absolutely nothing about motorcoaches.
You might check the Big Rigs Best Bets directory; the authors have actually visited each campground in the book!

I have not been there, maybe Darl has. I would look at the road in on Google Earth it is very tight going. If you go too early in the spring, snow will be there. Hwy. 50 from 395 up over the hill is steep. Coming in from I 80 near Truckee may be a better choice. I'll let Darl finish with his recomendations.
If I get a chance to go by there I will. Great Italian food @ Lanzas in North Shore.
Thanks Guys, sounds like you all have some good ideas and experience. Who is doing what next spring? Anyone heading East to West, going up to Canada?? I am getting a little house bound already, and need a road fix, find myself planning trips into the Icebergs just to get on the road.
