I am installing a new inverter / charger ( Xantrex ) to replace my Trace. The Trace worked without an equipment ( chassis ) ground; however the Xantrex unit requires it be attached. My question with both 24VDC and 12VDC on my Liberty is there any danger of damaging the electronics in the engine controls? I have installed all types of equipment in vehicles over the years, but never on a unit with multiple voltages. Since the Trace did not have an equipment ground I would be adding something new on an older coach. Ken

I don't even know why a guy that sells the duck would be asking about grounds.:D

You may have to do a search Ken, but I recall there being a very detailed discussion on the bus nuts site relating to the exact topic you bring up. I can't remember the details but I think that you have an unbonded neutral in the coach and a separate ground for the inverter. It is irrelevant whether the service entry equipment has a separate ground or a bonded neutral.

Why are you changing?
