After a 2700 mile drive I have a working generator. The voltage control board was the problem. The phone service tech told me that was the problem and offered to send me the part but I just wanted factory service. Not to mention a vacation with my buddy in Clearwater.

Power-tech is an not a big operation, one service bay and a couple nice guys with a good attitude. They were waiting with the door up at 8:00 AM for me, had the part on his cart and was working on the bus within 3 min's of entering the building. Did a complete genset check, changed the board, clean the unit and did a 1000 hour service with Kubota filters and parts, no dime store stuff.

$300 for the service and labor, $200 for the board. Not out of line for two guys, for about two and a half hours. They wanted me to call them in a couple days to make sure it was fixed and if it wasn't they would make it good.

Hi Mike. That's got to be a new record for 'distance travelled for Service repair'. Good post.
