Just heard that I may need a special permit to drive a motorhome over 41 ft in Ontario Province of Canada. Anyone have recent experience in Ontario with 45' coach?

Planning on travelling from Duluth MN to Thunder Bay, Ontario then down to Mackinaw area.

I've got a SUV as a Tow Vehicle Also.

I have heard that they will be happy to sell you a permit for your over-length vehicle.

No personal experience, so take it for the 2 cents it's worth....

Before we headed into Ontario we looked in a recent issue of family motorcoach, I do not have the current issue, it must be online but I am certain there is no limit at that length and am certain that all Canadian provinces respect US laws. I drove through with bus and toad with no issues. Check family motorcoaches website.

Just go!! Easier to ask forgiveness rather than permission. :)

I live in Ontario, Canada and own a 45 foot coach. Ontario does require a permit for 45 footers, but I don't know of anyone being bothered. Ontario also has a combined length law of 75 feet, so if you have a toad along for the trip then the 75 foot rule would apply. Come to Ontario for a visit, you won't be disappointed.:)

After Mackinaw we head to Detroit then East to Halifax. I understand you just were there. We plan to go across Canada through Montreal. Any suggestions or comments on your trip that you care to share? We are taking buckets of cash with us!
