The joke was on me.
I had my entire A/V system replaced while the Bus was at Marathon, new HD Tv's sat receivers, R6 the works, I was ready for anything as long as I could get a clear view.
Not so, I am in Canada for now, in Red Point campground eastern PEI and have no sat signal in a clear sky setting. Decided to call Directv to find out why.
They asked where we were, and said that they provide no signals outside of the 48 states, what a surprise, all that $$ and cannot get channels outside of the USA.
I was told that the GPS inside the R6 will cutoff the signal once you are outside of the US borders. Also some folks know how to defeat the GPS and even Pirate the signals in Canada.
I also looked into Canadian service through Bell Canada, $300 per month plus equipment, now I see why Canadians pirate the service from Directv.
Well anyway I do get 3 local channels on my TV antenna, which everyone wanted to remove.
