I was wondering if you swing in to a parking lot at night and drag up under one of those often many big sodium or mercury vapor lights will you get any significant charge:confused:

I would like attribute my curiosity on this one to MPD.

Warren thanks. Another stupid question. We are wondering then why do those little solar calculators work with the say the kitchen light at night. Why does one take place but not the other. Thank you in advance Mr Wizard.

The charge if it got one from a parking lot lamp, would not produce the energy necessary to get a MEANINGFUL charge from, kind of the same way you can't get warm from standing under one.
