SPEARFISH, SD Rally

Already anxiously awaiting this rally and wondering who at this time is PLANNING on going to Spearfish. I know alot could happen between now and then, but just looking now at POGers' schedules, it doesn't show many that had Spearfish on their agenda in September.

It would be nice to know the ones that are going to plan/try to be there or the ones that are definately not able to make it:)

We hit a little bump in the road as the Elkhorn Facility does not have a place to gather.

I received material on catering and a large tent with tables and chairs from Michelle at Elkhorn yesterday.

There seems to be quite a bit of interest.

It would be great if folks that think they are coming can drop me an email
to get on the list.

I don't have a specific price yet either as we have to work with the caterers.

So please drop me a line if you think you can come out to Spearfish.
I'll create a list, post it and update it as the attendees come in.
I think it is going to be a great rally.

Lots of folks interested in this rally. We already have 12 coaches that say they want to go.

From earlier rallies that means we can get 25-30 or more!

I will be doing a preview. If anyone is interested in getting together out there ahead of time let me know.

Meanwhile......there are other facilities we could utilize in addtion to the tent at Elkhorn.

Kathy and I really wanted to come to Spearfish. We've never been in that part of the country. But change of scheduling for our son puts an event that we need to be in NY, right smack in the middle of the POG rally! :(

Plus, no bus adds it's own measure of difficulty too!

Spearfish will be the fifth month from my recent open heart surgery and I couldn't think of a better goal to set for a trip. Everything is going along fine at present and I should be fit by the middle of Sept. Shirley and I have really enjoyed every POG rally since Santr Fe. We have a great time with you wonderful people.

Sharon and I have been talking about it since Pahrump. We are hoping to be able to make it.

I'm having back surgery just a few weeks before so not sure about recovery.

We are planning to make the trip too, especially since our pals from this area, Harry/Shirley and Pal Jim Shoen are going. Docs are trying to operate on Martha again but hopefully in late July or early August which would leave us in the "GO" window. It would be really difficult to miss this trip after seeing all the great POGers that are coming. Right now there are only 'great' POGers signed up. I suppose the others will arrive like thieves in the night with their crepe paper and blow-up dolls blaming my friend Warren for the mischief.

I would assume a route up thru Memphis and on. Jon are you and Roger and others going that way?

Dan: I know Jon has already got plans to leave from his daughters place in Jamestown, NY. Something about he thought it would it would be shorter since he was going to be there or maybe he said it was downhill.

My initial plan of travel takes me thru Knoxville, Lexington, Ky, Louisville to Peoria, Ill. then west at 65 mph instead of the 62.5 I have to run when travelling with A1.

Would be happy to try to meet up with you somewhere along the way.

I am as far to the east in Tn as Memphis is to the West. I am 500 miles from Memphis.

My Spearfish route starts with a visit to our daughter in Jamestown NY so we will get on Interstate 90 and stay with it the entire route. I hope the timing works to stop and visit with Joe as we blow through Chicage. We will be working against a schedule on both ends of the Jamestown to Spearfish leg so our run westbound may require an increase in speed from 62.5 to 63.

I'm thinking that maybe we can caravan with some of the Ohio folks (like Orren and Denny if he signs up) if they don't mind 700 mile days at such a high rate of speed.

Thank you Jim. We would like to attend, but schedule with Liberty is somewhat up in the air over the time from August 21 until September 23. By the end oif this week, I hope to narrow that down considerably.
