Ever getting into the POG thing, Parliament Coach has offered the following a Holland Companion Smoker Grill as the prize for the 'Blingiest Coach" at the Santa Fe rally.

Rules for judging and so on, as in POG fashion, are yet to be determined.

Better get to work.

Can they just mail it to me or do I have to pick it up at the rally?

Now the arms war can really begin. How will they handicap the Libertys?

JW : When I read that last post - I said Bull or something like Lew said to that Prevost Tech guy. The game is on- If they spot you points I will protest.

Unlike the traveling Anal Award (I can't believe I am typing those words), the Parliament Bling Trophy is a permanent item.

It is, of course, stainless steel.

No handicapping here.

The Blingiest Coach will be determined both from a daytime and night time perspective. So, a couple of LEDs here and there is not likely to produce a winner.

In addition, there will be a Congeniality Factor involved. That means that just the hardware alone will not be enough to win. The winner will have to 'sell' the Bling.

Apart from those ground rules, there probably aren't many other rules involved.

Advice will be taken from others in the area who are non-POGers, so no one can load the Bling with pork barrel. Remember, we are going to Santa Fe, not to Washington, DC (although for a future rally that does bring up some possibilities...more on that later).

Get out your imagination, your visions your vista of Bling.

The winning Bling coach will also be prominently displayed on the front page of prevost-stuff...being mindful that site gets about 2 million hits a month...so this is very serious business.

Who will be The Master of Bling? Will it be someone who was at POG I, or will it be someone we have yet to meet? Or, yea, someone from the West Coast?

POG II may set a new standard for rallies. I am not quite sure what that might be, but we will be finding out in a few short months.

The suspense is building.

I'm going to start channeling Liberace for super bling ideas. Jerry, don't start making room on the patio yet. That Grill is going to be perfect at Bubba Mike's.

Now that Jeff is starting to draft some rules, such as bling has to be seen in daylight, the dynamic duo with their LEDs has been rumored to be buying copper polish for their plumbing (will PVC shine up?) and paint for their slack adjusters.

Simple Green has already been sold out in the Washington DC and Houston areas.

BTW, it not only has to have bling, I assume it has to actually work as intended. JW has already pulled the valve covers and is having a team of undocumented workers hard at work polishing them. Mango is working hard banging out the dents.

I call for the bling judges to inspect the underside of coaches.

Last nite I consulted with TPBTRU. (The Parliament Bling Technical Response Unit).

They offered to Bling Out the coach, however I deferred, in the interest of fairness. I had been developing an interactive, changeable vision of bling for the coach, but if involved in the judging of the highly prized Parliament Bling Cooker Award, I must step aside for the integrity of judging.

However, TPBTRU sources suggest that the original idea, "An 80-year old woman would look at the bus and say, 'Wow, nice bus!'" remains the primary criteria upon which the prize winning coach would be judged.

Back to basics.

As to underside inspection: That could be a factor, but only as an 80-year old woman would be able to inspect. If a guy was to do an underside Bling, I would assume that would include a mirrored site so as to be able to inspect said Bling. Just think of the possibilities.

Which is about as good as I get on a good day anyway.

TPBTRU has offered to provide assistance to those who may wish to access same. Email stevem@parliamentcoach.com and you will be put in touch with additional sources or expertise, if you wish.

Keep cookin'

Obviously I've been ahead of the curve. My previous posture on the fact that an 85 year old woman should recognize the bling as bling now appears to become the standard by which bling will be judged.

JW, you may wish to take back that box of Kleenex because the old ladies I know wouldn't know an LED light from a Zippo lighter.

All that faux bling money down the drain.

Yup, Chinese awning lanterns, bobble head dolls and spinner hubcaps seem to be the direction the bling crowd is heading.

Roger, my best buddy who is giving me an M3, and I have coaches with built in bling. We are going to share the prize. Between Roger's stainless steel buffer and my copper polish this seems like a done deal.

Crap JDUB,

It looks like we're going to have to invest in dollies, lace and crushed velvet or join the Prouds where they appreciate true Bling.

Crap Mike, he isn't talking about bling. Jon and Jeff have confused analness with bling as they are stuck in a "anal do loop" and can't seem to get out.

And who's gonna line out an 80 year old chick to figure this out? I say we get an impartial judge. Someone who (A) doesn't own or never has owned nor works for Liberty (B) Someone who won't run the anal-o-meter off the scale when they show up at the rally (C) Someone who has the right combination of taste and appreciation for bling (sorry, it wouldn't be fair for me to judge and be a contestant :o )

I'm with you JW.

We need a Paris Hilton wanna be as a judge, bag the centurium. We're talkin' some serious competition here.

Sorry to take so long to respond. I was polishing the top of the fresh water tank.

Anyway, I will recuse myself from judging; instead, we will attempt to find an 80 year old woman to accomplish this task, impartial, a non-Prevost, non-anything previous owner.

Then I can go back to my original visions of the interior vista thing.

BTW, I do know the difference between Bling and, well, just cleaned up.

A Q-Tip cleans. But when you have 500,000 of them and appropriately lit, that's Bling.

Lastly, while some people are arguing about the rules, other people have visions of Bling dancing in their heads.

A well thought out and precisely executed strategy is not something a guy can come up with in a flash.

In judging the Bling, will the light show count anything? It's important to know.

Well since this thread can't get any worse, I was going to post this item I procured for Jon over on the thread where MangoMike posted the electric marshmallow roaster.

It proportionally looks more like me than Jon, but it's the thought that counts.

Mango & JW :
Our good friend and esteemed Prevost Colleague Jon is already working hard on the bling thing - Look what happened to Di's Hummer: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g31/parkwayautoofbristol/jonshummer.jpg

and look what he has done to one of Buddy Greggs used CC:

We might as well throw in the towel. Good thing Jon is already asleep. We'll have to delete all these posts by morning to keep him from selling the 210 for bling bucks.

Roger, between you and Tom, I think you guys have figured that photo posting thing out.

You guys have kept me in the house too long already. I got crap to load and it is already 10:30.

Jon Wehrenberg

That is almost exactly like the modifications made to Di's Hummer, except she had me add two slides.

I also added chrome exhaust tips for bling.

How do you light up the chrome extensions on your H3? Self powered?

I went to what is referred to as leading edge. (That's a phrase I heard once.)

I have the LED chrome tips for the H2.

Check out the Home Page -- Bling-Smoker is on the move to Santa Fe with "POG Security" -- ? They got a dog riding with it?
Keep that pirate away from it, he'll be a want'n to use it to cook up some hog meat! or lamb fries? I want it clean and new when I take it home.
