Tail of the Dragon

Chalk up another one.

For those that rode the tail of the dragon at the Sevierville rally it was reported that a Maryland man has been added to the list of fatalities on that road.

He died at 8:50 last night due to excessive speed on the curve. 21 years old.

Well we had a wonderful time in east Tennessee riding around despite what we heard about the Dragon. Jan and I rode it twice and didn't have any heart stopping moments.

We noticed that there were a lot of Rockets along with Beamers and
Honda Prelude groups trying to run it on a time basis rather then enjoy the scenery. I used to run my sons CBR-600 so I know what the rush is like, but those days are gone.

We really enjoyed the drive from Robbinsville to Tellico Plains on Hwy. 143/165 the Cherohala Parkway, we took on Sunday following the rally.
