Odometer on bus has 81400 miles and Detroit Pro driver has 73100 miles.

Which one is nearest correct?

Good question. If the numbers were reversed I would not hesitate to say the DD pro driver is correct because the Prevost Odometer sometimes fails to count intermittently leaving a 1/10 off here and there. I observed my current one fail to record any change in mileage for more than 10 miles and on my previous bus the same thing was occurring.

But you are going the other direction. Is it possible the pro driver was added later, or replaced, or had its memory erased?

Short of having evidence in hand that the pro driver was replaced to account for the difference, I would try to observe the odometer closely over a known distance (like an interstate between specific mile markers) and compare it to the known distance and the pro driver to sort out the puzzle.

Agree with Jon completely. Using a GPS trip mileage function would also give a good comparison.

Danss,

The Pro Driver is 'adjustable' and can be configured to suit the drivers needs.

When I changed the chassis batteries in my coach, I had to reset the Driver Pro. It has a function to adjust the start mileage, as I recall.

I have the instruction booklet for mine. Let me know if you need it.

I will be in TN and I have a Pro Driver Manual that details adjusting the milage. Though as Jon told me, the odometer and Pro Driver will eventually read differently.

If you open the pro driver up ( 4 little screws), and remove the keep alive battery for a minute, then it resets the prodriver to 0 odometer. You can program in any number you want.

If you hook up a DDEC reader, you will see the odometer kept by the DDEC computer. It is not resettable, and will count from when it was installed new.

Neither is guaranteed to be the chassis mileage though.

Hi Dan, I have an extra instruction book and will bring it to TN. You can have it. Would mail it to you now, but it is in the coach which is in Sanford, FL at this time.
