Anyone know why the garmin nuvi 760 does not change time zones automatically?
Or how to set it so it will.

Lloyd, I'm not sure it can be done. My Garmin does not change time zones automaticly, it is the 276C.
I think that because our cell phones do, the GPS should too.

You know I have wondered the same thing. None of the GPS's that I own change time automatically. I am sure that there is one that does, but I have to go manually set the time. Or just use Zulu time.

The Garmin's do not seem to change automatically, there is no automatic setting in the menus. There IS a setting to turn daylight savings time on/off, which I had to use with recent changes to that.
I don't quite understand why they couldn't, as they know exactly where you are! But, they dont ....

On my Alpine , I have to designate the region I am traveling, and that determines the time zone. It runs off of a CD.

I was just looking at the paperwork that came with my nuvi 770 and it says "you must select a time zone", but, you can set the daylight savings to on, off, or auto.
Who knew.
